MEIL has secured a USD 225 million project from Kuwait Oil Company for the construction and commissioning of key oil infrastructure facilities, strengthening Kuwait’s upstream oil operations and expanding its Middle East energy sector presence, focusing on international growth and energy diversification. Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL), a prominent Indian infrastructure conglomerate, has secured a significant contract worth USD 225.5 million from the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). This project involves the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of a New Gas Sweetening and Sulphur Recovery Facility (NGSF) at West Kuwait’s oil fields.

Scheduled for completion within 790 days, the facility will then enter a five-year operation and maintenance phase The NGSF is designed to process sour gas containing up to 4% hydrogen sulphide and 10% carbon dioxide, with a capacity to treat 120 million standard cubic feet per day (EPC) (MMSCFD). The facility’s Sulphur Recovery Unit (SRU) will consist of two trains, each with a capacity of 100 tonnes per day (TPD), achieving an overall sulfur recovery efficiency of 99.9%. The purified gas will be dehydrated and transported through KOC’s pipeline network to the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plant at the Mina Ahmadi Refinery for further processing.

This project underscores MEIL’s commitment to delivering world-class energy infrastructure that enhances environmental safety and operational efficiency. It also aligns with Kuwait’s focus on sustainable energy, cleaner fuel production, and environmental safety. The facility’s advanced technology and design aim to meet stringent environmental standards, contributing to the country’s energy diversification goals MEIL’s successful bid for this project marks a significant milestone in its international expansion strategy. The company’s expertise in executing complex hydrocarbon and refinery projects has been demonstrated through similar initiatives in other regions.

This contract not only strengthens MEIL’s presence in the Middle East’s oil and gas sector but also reinforces its reputation as a global Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) player with a proven track record in large-scale energy infrastructure projects The strategic partnership with KOC reflects MEIL’s capability to undertake and deliver high-value projects in challenging environments. By leveraging its technical expertise and project management capabilities, MEIL aims to contribute to the enhancement of Kuwait’s energy infrastructure, supporting the country’s long-term energy security and sustainability objectives MEIL’s acquisition of the USD 225.5

Million contract from KOC for the NGSF project is a testament to the company’s (Cookie) growing influence in the global energy sector. This achievement not only highlights MEIL’s technical prowess and commitment to quality but also positions it as a key player in the international energy infrastructure domain.
