Rail Infra Investment in Bihar Soars to ₹86,107 Cr; 52 Projects Approved

Indian Railways has increased infrastructure investments in Bihar, with a sanctioned outlay of ₹86,107 crore across 52 major projects. Key completed projects include Munger, Kosi, and Patna bridges, while ongoing projects include Vikramshila-Ganga Bridge line, Pirpainti-Jasidih new line, and Sonnagar-Patratu multitracking. Rail connectivity in Bihar is being expanded under the Eastern, North Eastern, East Central, and Northeast Frontier Railways. Eight new rail surveys have been initiated to boost connectivity. From 2014 to 2025, 558 Road Over/Under Bridges (ROBs/RUBs) have been constructed in Bihar, with another 218 sanctioned. Modern trains are also being introduced, enhancing speed and connectivity.
